October COE: Category C slips to $91,889 as most premiums ease
The Category C premium for goods vehicles and buses fell to $91,889 at the first October 2026 COE bidding exercise, which closed on 7 October. That is $255 lower than the $92,144 recorded at the second September round, according to the results reported by Singapore Business Review.
There were 310 Category C certificates available and 471 bids, of which 307 were successful. Elsewhere, Category A dropped to $130,001 and Category B to $130,100, leaving just $99 between the two car categories. Category D for motorcycles fell to $11,012, while the Open Category E was unchanged at $137,000.
In LTA’s own results, 471 Category C bids for 310 certificates compares with 532 bids for 318 certificates in the second September round, so demand for goods vehicle and bus COEs eased slightly heading into October.
Bidding results for each round are published by LTA after the exercise closes, together with quota, bids received and successful bids for each category. Fleet owners can check those figures directly when planning purchases or COE renewals.
The Prevailing Quota Premium (PQP) for Category C in October stands at $92,614, according to published results. This is what goods vehicle and bus owners pay to renew a COE for another five or ten years, so it is the number to compare against the cost of a replacement vehicle.
For fleet budgets, Category C has held in the low $90,000s for several rounds, so there is no sign yet of a meaningful drop. Cat C premiums are also running about 10% above their 12-month average, according to one results tracker, which suggests buyers who delayed purchases earlier in the year have not been rewarded.
The second October exercise opens on 19 October. LTA will also announce the COE quota for November 2026 to January 2027 this month, and that supply figure will be the main factor for premiums going into the new year.
